Vad vi väljer att bry oss om.. och Baghdad Bob!

Jag blir deppig när jag inser att nyheten om Bläckfisken Pauls frånfälle tar större plats i media, än att Saddam Husseins andre man Tariq Aziz nu dömts till döden för brott mot mänskligheten.

..å andra sidan får jag ju medge att jag hade glömt av honom fram tills nu (det finns ju så många andra rövskägg i media idag), men nyheten fick mig att komma ihåg en luring till. Mohammed Said as-Sahaf mera känd som Baghdad Bob eller Comcial Ali, han gjorde sig ett namn som Saddams presstalesman under operation Desertstorm i Irak. Allt eftersom Saddamregimens ställning blev mer och mer prekär gav han allt mer verklighetsfrämmande och bisarra kommentarer på det rådande lägetoch ofta med ett SaturdayNightLive leende på läpparna .

Jag har här nedanför samlat ett par av hans mest berömda uttalanden i media under kriget:

När jag satt här och ömsom grät och skrattade så slog mig tanken, undrar hur det gick för Baghdad Bob? Och nu har jag forskat lite. Mohammed Said as-Sahaf blev gripen av amerikansk militärpolis 25 juni 2003, men släpptes senare då han inte tillhörde Saddams innersta krets och inte sågs som tillräckligt intressant att hålla kvar. Mohammed Said as-Sahaf bor numera i Förenade Arabemiraten tillsammans med sin familj och jobbar nu för Abu Dhabi TV.
